Parent Or Grandparent Sponsorship
Due to the increased demand for visiting children and grandchildren, Canada has introduced a new program that allows you to visit your family members in an easy and convenient way. As of December 1st, 2011, the government of Canada has introduced the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa. The Super Visa will allow you access into Canada for a total of 10 years without having to renew your Visa while letting you remain in Canada for a maximum of 24 months at a time. This new program will enable the Super Visa holders the convenience of not having to go through the immigration process over and over again within a certain period of time.
The obvious advantage to the Super Visa is that you do not have to continuously renew your immigration documents to re-enter Canada (within a 10 year period). This will also help the Canadian government become more efficient when it comes to immigration matters because they will not have to spend time on routine paperwork that would have otherwise tied up resources and prolonged wait times for other applications. The Super Visa is meant to efficiently facilitate the travel of parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents however, dependants cannot be included in the application. The only other person who may apply under this program to accompany you is your spouse or common-law partner.
